Distribution: Southern D.R.C., northern Angola and Zambia

Size: SH: 75cm. W: 75kg.

Description: There are four subspecies: Angolan Yellow-backed duiker, Congo Yellow-backed Duiker, East African Yellow-backed duiker and Wester/Liberian Yellow-backed Duiker.

Angolan Yellow-backed Duiker – This is the largest of all the duiker species, it has a dark brown to black coat with a triangular patch yellow patch from behind its shoulders to onto the loins.

Sex Determination: Like in most cases of the forest duikers, both the sexes have horns. The male’s horns are heavier at the base.

Trophy Assessment: from around 3″+ is a good trophy.

Shot Placement: Broadside shot on the shoulders is always the best choice. Or a frontal shot into the chest cavity. Sometimes one will be presented with a running away shot then the best choice will be on the base of the tail.
