Description: There are 2 subspecies of Sharpe’s Grysbok: Northern Sharpe’s Grysbok and Southern Sharpe’s Grysbok.
Northern Sharpe’s Grysbok – A roan coloured animal speckled with white spots and a greyish face.
Sex Determination: Like most of the pygmy antelope the females are slightly bigger than the males, the female Sharpe’s Grysbok does not have horns.
Trophy Assessment: With the current record at 4″ and the Rowland Ward qualifying criteria 1 ⅟₂” it is almost a matter of if you can see the horns clearly it is a trophy.
Shot Placement: Middle of the body is always the best bet to prevent hitting any solid bones and resulting in the trophy being blown-up.
