Impala - Southern & Johnston's.

Aepyceros melampus melampus & Aepyceros melampus jonstoni.

Distribution: Southern Impala From South Africa to north-eastern Namibia, eastern Botswana, Zimbabwe, south, central and western Zambia and south-eastern Angola.

Johnston’s Impala –  Northern Mozambique, Malawi and eastern Zambia.

Size: SH: 80cm. W: 65kg

Description: Medium sized antelope. Reddish -brown coat, with yellowish-fawn flanks, with black stripes on the back of the rump. 

Sex Determination: Only males carry horns. Males are quite a bit heavier than females.

Trophy Assessment: 22”+

Shot Placement: Broadside – in the middle of the body straight-up with the front legs.
