Distribution: Restricted to the Luangwa Valley

Description: Big antelope with brown-greyish shaggy coat. Forward curved horns. White ring on the rump.

Sex determination: Only males carry horns. Males are a lot heavier and bigger than females.

Trophy Assessment: Big mature bull’s horns will have whitish colour and the rings will be well developed. Anything from around 27” is a good trophy.

Shot Placement: Broadside – in the middle of the body straight-up with the front legs.
