Distribution: Northern Reedbuck – North of the Zambezi river, Angola, Zambia, southern D.R.C., Malawi, Burundi, and southern Tanzania.

Description:  There are three subspecies of Reedbuck: Bohor Reedbuck (eight subspecies), Common Reedbuck (two subspecies) and Mountain Reedbuck (three subspecies). The Common Reedbuck  is the largest of the three Reedbuck species. It has the heaviest and longest horns. It is a medium sized antelope which is associated with floodplains and water rich environment. It has a yellowish-golden coat with forward curved horns and unlike the Southern Reedbuck it has a large white spot below the eye.

Sex Determination:  Except for the males that have horns there isn’t a big difference between the sexes.

Trophy Assessment: Mature males around the 14”+ mark.

Shot Placement: Broadside – in the middle of the body straight-up with the front legs.
