Distribution: Zambezi Sitatunga – North-eastern Namibia, north-western Botswana, D.R.C., Zambia.

Size: SH: 1.15m. W: 105kg

Description: There are four subspecies of sitatunga: East African Sitatunga, Forest Sitatunga, Sesse Island Sitatunga and Zambezi Sitatunga.

Part of the spiral horn family, semi-aquatic. Fairly long shaggy coat, pale grey-brown colour with very few white markings on the side.

Zambezi Sitatunga – More of a pale brown coat with fewer spots and stripes.

Sex Determination: Only the males have horns, females are more red in colour.

Trophy Assessment: Mature bull with 26”+ horns are a good trophy

Shot Placement: Broadside – in the middle of the body straight-up with the front legs.
