Distribution: From southern and northern South Africa, to south-eastern Botswana and southern Mozambique.

Description: The subspecies have become fragmented and isolated from each other. Traditionally, only two subspecies were recognized, but recently a third has been added: Southern Mountain Reedbuck, Chanler’s Mountain Reedbuck and Western Mountain Reedbuck.

Sex Determination: Except for the males that have horns there isn’t a big difference between the sexes.
Trophy Assessment: Mature males around the 6”+ mark.
