Tom Dreyer Safaris holds the lease of Kasonso Busanga GMA for the next 7 years. Kasonso Busanga, situated on the North-Western border of the Kafue National Park, is 1 812.36 mi² (1 159 912 acres) of unfenced and unspoilt wilderness. From the mighty Elephant, all the way down to the tiny Blue Duiker roam this area. Of the 37 Antelope and predator species that are huntable in Zambia 29 are on quota in Kasonso Busanga. Herds of 100’s of buffalo and Red Lechwe is a common sight on the Busanga swamps and surrounding plains.
The Busanga swamps is a RAMSAR HERITAGE SITE and cover a massive 494 210 acres. The bird life is definitely a big attraction for any conservationist, there are a recorded 500+ bird species residing around the Busange plains.
The diverse “flora” ranges from thick forest where you will be hunting your yellow-backed duiker or blue duiker and more to the vast open plains and dried-up wetlands where Sable, Roan, Puku, Oribi and buffalo are seen in numbers that you can only imagine. These are but a few of the many sightings and experiences that make this place so special.
After a long day’s hunting, while sitting around the campfire listening to the laugh of the Hyena in the background with the fire crackling in front of you and swirling a drink in your glass, get carried away by the mesmerizing African sky and make memories that last forever.
Accommodation consists of a luxury tented camp with an open plan dining room / common area and bar. Tents are equipped with hot and cold running water and comfortable beds. Mouth-watering meals prepared by our local chef are a welcoming sight after a long day in the bush.
To ensure that you enjoy your safari to the fullest you will be requested to fill in a dietary and general information sheet prior to your arrival to enable us, as far as practically possible, to cater for your specific needs.
Camp staff clean the accommodations daily and laundry is done every second day.
