Damiliscus pygargus phillipsi

Distribution: From the eastern province, northwards through the Free State, Northern Cape, western K.Z.N., into the Limpopo province south to the highveldt of South Africa.

Size: SH: 95cm. W: – 70kg

Description: Reddish brown coat with pale white on the belly and rump and a white blaze on the forehead. There are 4 recognized colour variants: White Blesbuck, Copper Blesbuck, Yellow Blesbuck and White saddle back Blesbuck

Sex Determination: Both sexes carry horns but the males horns are much heavier and are much lighter in colour.

Trophy Assessment: Mature males will normally have a horn length of 15”+ which is a good representative of the specie.

Shot Placement: Broadside – in the middle of the body straight-up with the front legs.

Frontal – Centre line in the chest.
